Seasonal Depressions

It is widely known that people can suffer from SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) in the winter. Those that like to field herp can suffer even worse from something called HAD (Herp Absence Distress). The most common symptom is constant frowning, even after looking through field guides:
Recommended treatments include looking at photos of places where cool snakes have been found:

(Dense populations of Crotalus Oreganus Lutosus near home)

And planning herping trips for that first warm week in the spring:

I'm still finding snakes (in my house). I don't know what your problem is :)

Trust me, you would rather have those garters than what the garters are eating. If you find any snakes w/red in them or any with abherrent patterns let me know.

and by the way, one of the girls at my work starting reading your blog too, I got to work and saw she was reading all the posts... she's just as creeped out as I am, but she couldn't stop reading it. I wonder how many other homemaker-types are finding their way here from my American Homemaking blog... LOL You'll have a very odd audience.

There are some girl field herpers out there. Anyone that can get past the weird first perceptions of snakes will realize how cool they are.

I feel your pain. I'm going through withdrawal as I type this. I need warm weather and herps on the road!

Chris Morrison,
No doubt you have my same affliction. If you are anywhere near Highland, Utah when it warms back up you are welcome to come find stuff with me. I have big plans, but usually have to celebrate cool finds by myself (I have found what I think is an isolated population of Pyros out of the supposed range and I will try to verify that w/pics this spring)
