GOPHER SNAKES, MILK SNAKE, ETC.

A FIELD HERPER'S DREAM IS TO HAVE THE KIND OF PERFECT TIMING WHERE EVERY OUTING PRODUCES COOL HERPS. TO BE HONEST, ON THE FIRST OUTING OF THE YEAR I WILL BE HAPPY FINDING EVEN COMMON HERPS. MY SONS HAD BEEN BUGGIN ME TO GO FLIPPING. WE HAD SOME TIME. LUCKY FOR US IT HAD RAINED A BUNCH RECENTLY. WE WENT TO AN AREA WHERE IT IS REALLY EASY TO STRIKE OUT COMPLETELY, BUT WE IMMEDIATELY FOUND LIZARDS AND MICE. WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF GETTING OUT OF THE VEHICLE, I KNEW BEFORE I SAW IT THAT WE HAD AT LEAST FOUND A GOPHER SNAKE BECAUSE OF THE LOUD HISSING.

UNDER THE SAME OBJECT WAS A BEAUTIFUL MILK SNAKE

ALONG WITH THE GOPHER SNAKE & MILK SNAKE WAS ALSO A TIGER SALAMANDER

LATER WE FLIPPED 4 YELLOW BELLIED RACERS & 11 MORE GOPHER SNAKES

AMAZINGLY, NO RATTLESNAKES THIS TIME, BUT HERE IS A GREAT BASIN RATTLESNAKE AND A RUBBER BOA FROM ANOTHER OUTING

THANKS FOR READING MY SNAKE BLOG
